What made us start up Wheelie Klips®?

It all started in the middle of a hot summer a few years ago. I picked up one of the bin bags and placed it in my wheelie bin – when suddenly, the smell hit me… I managed to shut the lid quickly and started breathing through my nose again. What an awful smell! I noticed a fly had managed to fly out in the meantime, I was thinking, please tell me not a herd of them. I held my breath, opened the wheelie bin and to my horror, I found even more flies swarming the whole bin. I slammed it shut and got on with researching – looking to find the best solution to clean my wheelie bin.

A few weeks later and after using 3 different products, I noticed nothing was helping. The big brand products were all powders and just seemed to rest at the bottom of the wheelie bin, mixing into a sort of sludge and not tackling the issue on hand – the flies, the horrible juices and most importantly, the smell!

The only other option was putting the supposed large, heavy duty bin bags in my wheelie bin. I headed to my local shop and purchased some of the toughest ones available and tried to get these into the wheelie bin. The struggle was real! By the time I’d wrapped the bag around the sides, it had ripped so many times, I gave up.

Until I had a brainwave, to start Wheelie Klips®! Manufacturing bin bags that were heavy duty, long and strong enough and creating the klips to keep the bags secure on the bin. I started to sketch a design and asked my friend to do a 3D design with his 3D printer. After all the tweaks, all was finally ready to be manufactured. I’ve finally been able to open my wheelie bin without holding my breath.
